SYEP Pride: employer deadline

Need a summer intern? You can host an LGBTQ+ young person and the City will foot the bill!

The mayor’s office is reaching out to ask employers for special consideration for a six-week placement of LGBTQ+ youth (ages 16-24), as part of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).  Stipends are paid by the city, and the positions can be remote, in-person, or hybrid.

This is the first year the City has added a specific LGBTQ+ initiative to the 60-year-old program, called SYEP Pride, and it's a great opportunity for you to provide meaningful employment experiences for LGBTQ+ youth.

To learn more, visit nyc.gov/hireNYCyouth or contact Patrick Kwan, the Mayor’s LGBTQ+ Liaison. The deadline for employers to sign up is May 26.
